Wealth, Hard Work, and Enterprise
Wealth, Hard Work, and Enterprise
This piece is informed by a quote from journalist George Monbiot of The Guardian (British) newspaper: "If wealth was the inevitable result of hard work and enterprise, every woman in Africa would be a millionaire." This quote can be interpreted as saying the game of life is rigged, and that one should not work oneself to death for someone else's benefit. By extension, these sentiments are a rejection of self-sacrifice and a call to remain true to oneself.
